Ballistic Shield (2 Days)
Learn several methods of ballistic shield deployment for use during room clearing, staircases, and wounded recovery. One/two officer shield use. Live fire exercise included.
Basic Tactical (15 Days)
For officers recently assigned to a tactical or perimeter control team. Introduction to basic tactics and techniques, team organization and structure, searches and room clearing, warrant service, covert movement, barricaded suspect situations, chemical agents, less lethal options. Practical training exercises.
Stealth Movement (2 Days)
Stealth entry techniques including invisible deployment, movement in hallways and staircases, room clearing, clearing of suspect’s stronghold position. Practical training exercises.
Dynamic Entry High-Risk Warrant Service (5 Days)
This course is designed for members of tactical/gang/drug or any other specialty unit. Warrant planning, intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, diversion methods, speed/timing/surprise, dynamic entry, breaching, limited penetration and contain and call out.
Hostage Rescue (5 Days)
Follow-up to Basic Tactical training. This course covers crucial aspects of hostage rescue operations including hostage rescue concepts, immediate action rapid deployment, negotiating concepts, hostage rescue force options, open air option, stronghold and vehicle options.
Hostage Rescue – Explosive Forced Entry (10 Days)
This course consists of hostage rescue training as above but with the addition of critical safety issues – calculating net explosive weight, safe stacking distance, and internal overpressure, breaching report documentation, breaching wood/metal doors – both internal and external, defeating barricaded doors, charge placement drills, action on misfire, multiple breach point entries, developing standard operating procedures, stronghold analysis, breacher’s aide memoir.
Tactical Operations – Winter Conditions (5 Days)
A course designed for tactical units that operate in extreme winter conditions. How adverse conditions affect team deployment and equipment, and how to overcome difficulties presented by winter – weapons selection, chemical munitions, specialty impact munitions, clothing selection, and winter survival skills.
Tactical Rappel (5 Days)
Prerequisite: Students must be in excellent physical condition
A course designed to provide the student with beginning climbing skills necessary to rappel safely. Emphasis is placed on knots, anchor systems, introduction to equipment to aid in both ascension and descension and includes alternate methods of rappelling. This course can be a first step to becoming a rappel master. It is recommended that students supply their own safety equipment including climbing harness, rappel gloves, steel locking carabineer, rescue-8 and safety helmet. Other climbing gear and ropes will be supplied.
Tactical Rappel And Rappel Master (5 Days)
Prerequisite: Students must be in excellent physical condition and have completed Tactical Rappel
within past two years
This course includes instruction as noted in the Tactical Rappel course, but with special emphasis on static rappels and rescue systems. It is recommended that students supply their own safety equipment including climbing harness, rappel gloves, steel locking carabineer, rescue-8 and safety helmet. Other climbing gear and ropes will be supplied.
